Accessibility Metadata: Panel Discussion
The publishing industry embeds accessibility metadata in ebooks and other online publications to describe the features that facilitate the reading experience for people who are blind, have low vision or are otherwise print disabled. Four speakers will share their perspectives on how accessibility is being defined in international epublishing standards, how metadata is embedded in publications, how libraries are using metadata to improve service to their users that are print disabled, and how these readers benefit from accessibility metadata.
Speakers include:
- George Kerscher, The DAISY Consortium
- Hans Beerens, Dedicon
- Laura Brady, eBound
- Julie Cardinal, University of Montreal
The webinar is organized by the Accessible Books Consortium (ABC).
