How to load books in EasyReader on Android/iOS device

EasyReader from Dolphin is a popular free app for reading DAISY, EPUB and other formats. See EasyReader iOS and Android app Overview to know more about its features.

You can add books to EasyReader in two ways:

Option 1: From an Online Library (e.g., Bookshare, RNIB, etc.)

  1. Tap “My Books” at the bottom.
  2. Tap “+ Add” (or “Libraries”).
  3. Choose a library (e.g., Bookshare, RNIB Bookshare, Vision Australia, etc.).
  4. Sign in with your credentials for that library.
  5. Search for a book and tap Download.

The downloaded books appear in My Books.

Option 2: Open Local Files (from phone storage or cloud)

If you already have a DAISY/EPUB/TXT/MP3 book on your phone or tablet then follow the steps listed below.

Important:  If it’s a DAISY book, make sure it is contained in a ZIP file. Each DAISY book should be a separate ZIP file. Do not put several DAISY books inside one ZIP file and do not rename files inside DAISY book folders.

 A. From File Manager or Email:

  1. Locate the file (e.g., a .zip DAISY book or .epub) in your Files app, Downloads, Google Drive, or Email attachment.
  2. Tap the file and choose “Open with EasyReader”.
  3. The book will open directly or be added to your My Books shelf.

B. Inside EasyReader:

  1. Tap “My Books” > “+ Add” > Import from Files.
  2. Browse and select the book file.
  3. It will be added to the shelf.
