- EPUB—leading mainstream ebook standard, based on open technologies used on the Open Web Platform. The EPUB specification is a distribution and interchange format standard for digital publications and documents, defining a means of representing, packaging and encoding structured and semantically enhanced Web content, for distribution in a single-file format.
- DAISY—original digital talking book standard which offers a flexible and navigable reading experience for people who are blind or print disabled, offering a significantly enhanced reading experience—one that is much closer to that of the sighted reader using a print book.
- DODP—DAISY Online Delivery Protocol, for transfer of digital content from service providers to end users.
- PDTB —Protected Digital Talking Books specification describing the technical means by which digital talking books can be issued in a protected format.
