Japan DAISY Consortium

About JDC

JDC, through its Technical Committee, discusses requests from Japanese users and accessibility requirements specific to the Japanese language concerning international standards such as DAISY and EPUB, and presents effective proposals for international standards.

The international standard for EPUB accessibility (ISO/IEC 23761) was adopted by the initiative of Japan.

In Japan, the EPUB Accessibility Japan Industrial Standard (JIS X 23761) was established and published on August 22, 2022, as a standard consistent with ISO/IEC 23761, with the cooperation of the JDC Technical Committee. With this, we actively promote the EPUB Accessibility JIS standard.
