DAISY’s Avneesh Singh Wins Digital Leadership Award at FBF

The Digital Publishing Awards 2026 have been held at The Frankfurt Bookfair today and we are delighted to announce that Avneesh Singh, DAOSY’s Chief Operating Officer, has won the prestigious Digital Leadership Award.

Avneesh Singh has helped shape the standards and practice of accessible publishing for about two decades, combining technical expertise with strategic governance, both with the DAISY Consortium and the W3C, where he serves on the Advisory Board. His work helps publishers meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act and the US ADA Title II. As a blind person, he is also a role model for how a disability need not limit what a person can achieve. Avneesh said in his acceptance speech:

“Thank you very much for this great honor. I am deeply grateful to the jury and to the Digital Publishing Award team, and to Bill Kasdorf for nominating me.

I would like to acknowledge the DAISY Consortium. The accessibility movement that I have been contributing to was started by DAISY decades ago, by some remarkable pioneers. I would also like to acknowledge all my colleagues and partners who have supported and shared this journey with me. It has truly been a collective effort.

And I would also like to pay tribute to my wife, Paramdeep Kaur. She stood firmly beside me throughout the years, supported me through the demands of my mission, and made it possible for me to contribute to the mission. I wish she could have been here to share this moment with me.

Thank you again for this honor.”
